A few months ago, I answered this question on Quora: “How can Elon Musk put in 80-100 hours a week and still have a social life or time for exercise, etc.?” My answer collected an incredible number of views and upvotes – a good indicator that this is (A) a hot topic and (B) my answer makes sense to many.
The answer I have for you today may be even more interesting. In part, this is your answer!
Here’s the scoop. TL,DR: what you discovered through Elon Musk Q7 questionnaire (now closed).
Personal efficiency, effectiveness, success – have been my favorite subjects and areas of research for quite some time. A few years ago, when I launched the Collectiver site and online tool, the objective was to find out why some teams are more efficient than others. According to my research and observations as a performance expert, the best-performing teams have significant internal alignment. That alignment I measure by the basic values’ congruence of the team members.
For technical reasons, the original CLCTVR tool had a very short life. Now its successor, CLCTVR 2.0, is available in Beta. The new tool is not dependent on LinkedIn any longer. In addition to person-organization (P-O) and person-person (P-P) compatibility assessment, the tool indicates the general vector of the team’s and team members’ values. P-P and P-O compatibility is determined by the congruence of the respective values and is visualized by the location of the individual stars of the team members. That is, the closer the “Stars” are on the “Celestial Map,” the better is the outlook for an efficient, productive and happy team environment.
In addition, the location of each star provides a bird’s eye view at the person. Depending on the Star location, it is possible to expect with a fair amount of probability that this person will be, e.g., team-oriented or very individualistic, looking for new ideas and challenges, or preferring to maintain status-quo. Depending on the avocation, that could be positive or negative or neutral; the tool gives an indication that may be very helpful to job-seekers, head-hunters, and virtually any forward-looking individual.
Last – but FOREMOST for now: We can analyze the Stars of well-known successful people and try to figure out what made them successful. My first object of research is Elon Musk.

Updated Elon Musk’s star location, as of 07:00 PM ET, Jan. 13, 2018. Your individual answers (64 in total; now closed) differ, but Elon’s Star is steady in the same quadrant of the Celestial Map, where openness to change and self-direction dominate pretty much everything else, with limited – if any – care about power or money. And even in this constellation, Elon’s Star looks is an outlier.
