Keeping You Motivated: COMA Grand Opening with (de)Motivational Posters

According to research, motivational posters generally do not work. In fact, even the most impressive image loses its motivational force if you are exposed to it for an extended time, and undermines your natural desire to work better.

Conversely, if you are exposed long enough to what, in all honesty, is a DEmotivational poster – you start getting extra energy from interaction with this visual. At least, that is my case. For the optimal result, it is recommended to find your favorite subject – and share your “specialty” with your team. Sharing demotivational content multiplies the effect because your exposure to deliberately demotivating materials grows exponentially with each share.

(Another exciting thought, worth experimenting with: How long will it take for the poster you’ve just shared to make it back to you?)

Bottom line: brutally honest demotivating posters make a considerably stronger positive impact on consenting adults than slick but false motivators of any nature.

Inspired by this discovery, we started this Collection of Motivational Art, and we are now ready to share a selection of COMA exhibits with our clients, readers, and followers. To the best of our knowledge and belief, all copyrights are between CC0 and CC-BY, i.e. you are free to use these motivational materials but please do not forget to mention that you found them on collectiver.com.

You are free to use these motivational materials curated by Collectiver.

You may find some posters in several versions. As in the case of Old Masters, many classic works of art exist in several versions – because of the creator’s mood changes, reproduction by art students, and to satisfy the art market demand. However, at COMA, we create different versions to fully satisfy the aesthetic expectations of even the most demotivated persons.

Take your pick, share to your heart’s content, and do not forget to send in your favorite demotivators. We promise to add the best ones to COMA so that global motivation continues to multiply. You’ll have to walk around collectiver.com to find them (may start here). It is quite possible that you will find a lot of value-added information on the way, including posts, tools, and videos.
